I got tired of listening to music all the time while at work, so I wanted to start listening to talk radio to mix it up.  The only talk radio station I could think of that had internet streaming was NPR, so I started listening to that at work.  I didn’t think this would be a long-lasting experiment, but I’ve actually really enjoyed it so far.  They always have well-informed guests talking about a whole variety of current events and the listeners that phone in always have relevant and interesting questions.  Then over lunch I always skim through:

I particularly like going through the shitstorm comment boards to see how people can always find ways to complain about whatever the article’s about.  You may notice that none of those are American news outlets, and that’s intentional.  I never find anything interesting on sites like CNN and these ones have considerably less advertisements.  Also its interesting to get the news from a different perspective that’s sometimes critical of American politics and culture (specifically from Russia Today, goddamn), but I take it all with a grain of salt.
